A seaside village north of Palermo, known for its long pale-sand beach (about 1.5 km) with beach clubs and cabins. The area was marshland until the late 19th century; after reclamation it became a holiday resort. The Capo Gallo reserve lies at its edge.

Fits a 3-day trip

In 3 days: Mondello or Cefalù.

  • Ville in stile Liberty: Among others Villa Tasca, Villino Gregoretti (by Ernesto Basile) and Villino Petrulla.
  • Borgo dei pescatori: At the far end of the beach, the old fishing village for local food and fresh fish.
  • Riserva di Capo Gallo: To the north, a 586-hectare nature reserve with coves for swimming.
