Volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, reachable from Palermo only by sea or helicopter; Liberty Lines also lists links from Trapani. It hosts the Ustica Island Marine Protected Area.

Recommended for 7 days or more (in summer)

Works as a day trip only if the hydrofoil timetable allows it: check the operator's site.

What to see

  • Torre di Santa Maria e Rocca di Punta Falconiera: Two historic sites listed among the island's main sights.

Getting there

Only partly reachable by public transport

Sea link from Palermo with Liberty Lines (hydrofoil, 1h30). Runs and days vary: check the official timetable. Summer 2026/2027 timetable not verified.

By car

A car is not needed to reach the island: departure is from Palermo port. Car boarding not verified.

When to go

Not verified from an official source; swimming makes summer preferable.

  • Getting to Palermo port: bus stops at Piazza Politeama about 1 km away.
